Gangtok: The Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and Mr.Lutsang Gyarik Thar, a member of Tibetan Parliament in Exile paid homage to the sacred Buddhist shrines and temples at Dharma Chakra Centre (Rumtek Monastery), Deorali Chorten monastery, Guru Kubum monastery and Sera Je Drophenling monastery accompanied by the settlement officer, Mr Tenzin Tsepak.
They also met with eminent personnel of the Sikkim Shri Tenzin Gelek, IAS Commissioner cum Secretary, Dept of Personnel and Chief Electoral Officer, Election Department, Govt of Sikkim, Smt.R.Ongmu, Chief Administrator, Govt of Sikkim, Shri Tsegal Tashi, IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary, Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Govt of Sikkim at their office. They showed a keen interest in the welfare of the Tibetan people living in various areas in Sikkim.
On 24 June, a General meeting was held, attended by the leaders of the local Tibetan associations, and non-government organisations.They also paid homage to Gonjang Monastery, Domo Kagyu monastery, and Sa-Ngor monastery.
Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and Mr Lutsang Gyarik Thar, a member of the standing committee, Tibetan Parliament in Exile arrived at Dharamshala on 26 June and 27 June respectively.
