DHARAMSHALA: Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile today left Dharamshala for Delhi to attend the cremation of His Eminence Sakya Gongma Dagchen Jigdrel Dorjee Chang Chenpo and to visit Lal Qila Tibetan market where a major fire mishap resulted in gigantic financial loss for the Tibetans.
His Eminence Sakya Gongma Dagchen Jigdrel Dorjee Chang Chenpo, 88, holder of one of the two main Sakya lineages of Tibetan Buddhism, passed away around 8:15 pm on Friday, 29 April at Seattle in the United States.
To express deep concern and solidarity with the devastated Tibetans, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will be offering a letter of sympathy and a donation of Rs. 70,000/ from the Chairman Relief fund. The letter cited that the Parliament hopes for a prompt reconstruction and recovery from the mishap.
Speaker will be returning to Dharamshala on 12 November.
