Dharamsala: Speaker Ven. Khenpo sonal Tenphel of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile today concluded his two-days public engagements in Los Angeles.
Speaker Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tengel, who arrived in LA on Dec 5, was received by President of Tibetan Association and former Tibetan parliamentarian Mr. Tenzin Choden as well as the members of the Tibetan community.
He commenced with the pre-defined program on Dec 6 and met with the Tibetans residing there. In his address to the Tibetan community, he talked about the critical situations inside Tibet, on our obligations and endeavour towards upholding our language and culture without relying on others for its sustainability.
He paid tribute to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s life-long contribution to the Tibetan cause and people, while urging the diaspora community to embrace Tibetan unity and democratic principles for the Tibetan cause and its struggle.
He encouraged the members to uphold the Tibetan spirit and continue to make concerted efforts towards preservation of the unique Tibetan language, culture and way of life.
Speaker will depart fro New York today.
