Dharamsala : Speaker of Tibetan Pariliament-in-Exile, Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tenphel arrived at New York yesterday and was greeted with an exuberant traditional welcome as the Tibetan children adorned in traditional attire offered Chemar as well as scarves by the Mr. Kunga Tashi, staff at Office of Tibet, US, President and the members of Tibetan Community of New York & New Jersey, Representatives of various associations and Tibetan public.
This afternoon, he will meet with Chinese friends and engage in panel discussion with them afterwards.
Tomorrow, he will be addressing the Tibetan public at the Nobel Peace Prize Anniversary function, organized by the Tibetan Community of New York & New Jersey, to commemorate the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1989.
On Dec 10, he will address the Tibetan public congregation during the Tibet Rally by Tibetan Solidarity Campaign and will depart for Washington D.C the next day.
