Dharamshala: On September 2, 2024, Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Deputy Speaker Dolma Tsering Teykhang, and members of the Standing Committee of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile visited the Paonta Tibetan settlement.

The parliamentary delegation was en route to Rajpur in Dehradun to attend the 80th birthday celebration and long-life prayer offering for Sakya Gongma Trichen. Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed and hosted for high tea by the settlement officer and residents of Paonta Cholsum Tibetan settlement.

During their visit, the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Standing Committee members toured the office of the settlement officer and the Local Tibetan Assembly.
