The Tibetan parliamentary delegation led by Deputy Speaker, Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok met with Parliamentarians from both houses of Indian Parliament in New Delhi from 21st November to 30th November 2016. The Delegation along with Shri Shanta Kumar, Convener, APIPFT met with Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker, Lok Sabha on 30th November 2016 at 13:30. Shri Shanta Kumar, the convener of APIPFT presented a letter to the Speaker supporting the Tibet issue and apprised about the Democratic system of the Central Tibetan Administration and appreciated the working of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. He further added how Dharamsala turned into a tourist hub by the grace of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Dy. Speaker, TPiE offered a thangka painting of Buddha to Hon’ble Speaker and discussed about the current situation inside Tibet. Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha agreed to look into the matter.
