Dehradun : In par with the ongoing Tibet’s cause and issue advocacy by Tibetan Parliament-in-exile, Parliamentary delegates Mr. Dawa Tsering, Ven. Khenpo Jamphal Tenzin, Mrs. Samten Choedon and Mr. Tashi Dhondup has commenced with advocation for the cause of Tibet and its issues at Dehradun on Oct 2 at Dehradun areas in Uttarakhand.
The parliamentarians had left for Dehradun from Dharmsala early morning on Oct 1 and were accorded warm welcome and reception by the Dehradun Tibetan Settlement Officer and its Secretary, Chairman of Dekyiling Local Tibetan Assembly and Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement.
With the concurrence of Gandhi Jayanti and Swatch Bharat Abhiyan on Oct 2, the parliamentarians attended the program organized by Dekyiling Tibetan Market at 9:30 am as its ‘Chief Guests’ as per the invitation proffered and thereafter, led and participated in the cleaning drive.
Later, they met with Sh. Indra Paul Singh, Secretary, Bharat-Tibbat Sahyog Manch and discussed on various issues concerning Tibet. Similarly, they also apprised on the various issues of Tibet, while soliciting their support for the same as they met Sh. Hira Singh Bisht, Former PWD Minister, Sh. Pritam Singh, State Congress President, Sh. Anurgrah Narayan Singh, CWC member, Smt. Reenu Paul, Environmentalist and Tibet Supporter and other members, Dr. M.K.Otani, Ministry of Culture, GoI and Sh. Vinod Chamoli, MLA, Clementown.
They also apprised the dignitaries they met on the relationship between India and Tibet; the importance of Tibet to the Central Asia, including India; atrocious policies implemented by the government of China inside Tibet; inculcation of ancient Indian culture by the Tibetans as well as on the immense gratitude felt by the Tibetans to the people and the government of India.
The advocacy for Tibet and its issues by the said parliamentary delegation, which started on Oct 1, will continue till Oct 26.
