
Delhi : The four-member Tibetan parliamentary delegation, comprising of Parliamentarians Ms. Youdon Aukatsang, Ms. Yeshi Dolma, Ven. Geshe Lharampa Gowo Lobsang Phende and Mr. Kunchok Yarphel, who had recently placed the issues of Tibet before a host of leaders in the state of Goa, Gujurat, Maharastra and Jaipur, has successfully called on prominent Union Ministers and other member of Indian parliament, including Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly, Sh. Ram Niwas Goel.

During their short five days visit in Delhi, the delegates met with Smt. Maneka Gandhi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Sh. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Shri Ram Niwas Goel, Speaker, Delhi Vidhan Sabha and Sh. Ram Madhav, BJP National General Secretary.

Eminent leaders of Bharata Janata Party (BJP) Sh. Lal Krishna Advani and Sh. Murli Manohar Joshi also gave time to the delegation and invited them to their respective residence.
The delegation also met with members of Indian parliament and members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs): Sh. Kapil Sibal (Lok Sabha), Sh. Anil Baluni (Lok Sabha and BJP Media Spokesperson), Sh. Bhagat Singh Koshyari (MP and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand), Sh. Madan Lal (MLA from south Delhi).

The delegation met with Sh. Shanta Kumar (MP and Convenor of All Party Parliamentary Forum for Tibet) and Sh. Indresh Kumar, Founder of Bharat-Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM) to thank them for their continued support for Tibet and Tibetans.

A press conference was organised on 17th October 2018 from 3-5 pm at Press Club of India to highlight the objectives of the Tibetan parliamentary delegation’s visit and update the media on their five states tour. Mrs. Youdon Aukatsang, head of the delegation addressed the press conference moderated by Mr. Karma Dhargyal, India-Tibet Corrdination Office (ITCO). It was attended by both print and television media including CNN IBN, Zee News, PTI, ANI, Kyodo News, and Tibetan media.

The delegation paid a visit to the Representative Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and updated Representative Mr. Ngodup on the visit. As a wrap up to the visit, the delegation visited ITCO office on October 19th and shared experiences and suggestions based on their five states Tibet-advocacy tour.
