Dharamshala, 23 June 2026: As part of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s official program, Parliamentarians Choedak Gyatso and Gonpo Dhundup called on the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Hon’ble Omar Abdullah, on the morning of 23 June 2026. The parliamentarians were accompanied by the Chief Representative Officer (CRO) for Ladakh, Tashi Dhundup.

During the meeting, the parliamentarians briefed the Chief Minister on a land-related grievance affecting the Tibetan settlement in Srinagar. In response, the Chief Minister assured the delegation that he would discuss the matter with the relevant officials and work toward finding a resolution.

The two parliamentarians also expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister and his family for their longstanding support of the Tibetan community. They noted that, for generations, the Abdullah family has cared for local Tibetan residents, maintained close ties through multiple audiences with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and extended steadfast support to the Tibetan cause. They conveyed that such support has provided hope and strength to the Tibetan struggle and requested his continued and enhanced support in the future.

During the meeting, the parliamentarians presented the Chief Minister with a memento from the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and extended their greetings and best wishes.

The delegation also met with the Secretary and Deputy Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Office, as well as the Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, during their visit.
