Dharamshala: In line with its periodic visitation program, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile delegation, comprising parliamentarians Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tseten and Tenzin Jigdal, successfully concluded their official visit to Bomdila and Dirang on 9th November 2024.
After completing their official engagements in Tenzin Gang, the delegation, accompanied by Tenzin Gang Settlement Officer Rabten Tsering, proceeded to Bomdila.
En route, they visited the scattered Tibetan community in Gacham. Upon reaching Bomdila, the delegation paid their respects at the Thubchog Gatsel Ling Monastery, founded by Guru Tulku Rinpoche.
The visit coincided with Rinpoche’s birthday, and the MPs were invited to join the celebration, alongside Tenzin Gang Settlement Officer Rabten Tsering and Bomdila Coordinator Tenzin Lhagyal.
On behalf of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, the MPs extended their birthday greetings to Rinpoche and presented him with a souvenir from the Parliament.
Later that day, the MPs sought an audience with the 104th Gaden Tri Rinpoche, who was in Bomdila for the consecration and blessing of the Thubchog Gatsel Ling Monastery.
The delegation then held a public meeting with the local Tibetan communities of Bomdila and Gacham at the Bomdila Coordinator’s office. The meeting began with a welcome address by Bomdila Coordinator Tenzin Lhagyal, followed by a report presentation and introduction of the visiting MPs by Tenzin Gang Settlement Officer Rabten Tsering. The MPs delivered speeches, participated in a Q&A session, and concluded with remarks from the Bomdila Coordinator.
Afterward, the delegation paid respects at the Gontse Gaden Rabgyel Ling Monastery in Bomdila before proceeding to Dirang. In Dirang, they visited the remains of a historic three-story building, which once served as the district office for Dirang, one of the three districts of Mon during independent Tibet.
Thus, the delegation successfully concluded their official visit to Bomdila and Dirang.
