Kalon Dr. Pema Yangchen of Department of education during the 6th day of the ongoing General Session

Dharamsala: Chaired by Speaker Pema Jungney, today’s session commenced with the continuation of debate and discussion on précis 2018-19 annual report of Department of Education and review on the detailed annual report of Department of Education by the Standing Committee in the first and second proceeding of the session.

The house engaged in raising questions, opinions and suggestions over the topics such as scholarship facility, Tibetan Sunday school, workshops for teachers, Basic Education Policy, career counselors in Tibetans schools, publications from DoE for the students, dialectic study program, etc.

Parliamentarians addressed some important matters, highlighting the importance of quality education in Tibetan Schools through student Centric teaching approach.

Dr. Pema Yangchen, Kalon of the Department of Education presented the answers and clarifications and assured commitment towards improvising the education quality of Tibetan students.

The discussion on the aforesaid reports of the Department of Education will continue in tomorrow’s session.
