Dehradun: Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Pema Jungney gave talk on “ Democracy and Unity” in Tibetan settlements of Dehradun, Poanta Settlement, Puruwala Tibetan Settlement and Herbertpur Tibetan Settlement from 15th April to 18th April 2019, organized by National Democratic Party of Tibet (NDPT).

During his official visit of North India, Speaker was warmly received by Local President and Vice President of National Democratic Party of Tibet (NDPT) near Selakui, Dehradun. Similarly, Tibetan Justice Commissioner (North), Settlement Officer of Dehradun, Chairman of Local Tibetan Assembly Dekyiling received the Speaker near Lingtsang Tibetan Settlement Highway. At Rajpur Homes School, the Speaker was received by Principal of the school and representatives of Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement and other NGOs.

On 15 April 2019, Speaker was warmly welcomed by the students and general public at Dekyiling Tibetan Settlement, where he gave talk on ‘Democracy and Unity’ and answered questions asked by the public for three hours. Afternoon on the same day, he visited Tsering Dhondenling Tibetan Settlement and Ling Tsang Tibetan Settlement with pleasant reception from the respective settlement people, Speaker gave talk on ‘Democracy and Unity’ and also clarified doubts and answered questions raised by people.

On 16 April 2019, Speaker was received by Cakzoe (Treasurer) of Mindrol Ling and Former Tibetan Parliamentarian Tenkyap, Settlement Officer, Chairman of Local Tibetan Assembly, President of Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement and Head of school. He gave talk on ‘’ Democracy and Unity’ and answered questions raised by the people. Speaker also visited Rajpur Tibetan Community, where he gave talk on the above-mentioned topic and answered questions from public.

Similarly, on 17 April 2019, Speaker visited Herbertpur Tibetan Settlement with pleasant reception from the settlement people; Speaker gave talk on ‘Democracy and Unity’ and also clarified doubts and answered questions raised by people. Later that day, Speaker visited Poanta Tibetan Settlement, where Settlement Officer, Chairman of Tibetan Local Assembly, President of Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, President and members of Poanta Cholsum Tibetan Society, other organizations and public received him with traditional scarfs. Speaker visited Settlement office, Monastery, offices of Tibetan Women Association and Tibetan Youth Congress, both traditional and modern hospitals, door and window’s factory and office of Lhamo Assocaiation.

And on 18 April 2019, Speaker was invited as a chief guest to Sambhota Tibetan School Poanta (STSP)’s Morning Assembly. Students and staff meditated for 5 minutes and students performed their morning activities like reading out News in English and Tibetan and debating on Tibetan Buddhist dialectic. Speaker addresses the students and teachers and toured the hostel and classes of the school. Speaker also observed student’s Cabinet meeting and gave certain important advices regarding the meeting.
