Dharamsala : The final day of the Fourth session of the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile commenced at 9:30 am with Speaker Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tenphel chairing it.
It session began with the continuation of the remainder agenda of the Department of Health as Kalon Mr. Choejung Wangchuk gave answers and clarifications to the Standing Committee’s review as well as the concerned parliamentarians.
The noon session saw the ratification of motion on the follow-up of the Financial Statement and Report of the 8th Public Account Committee by the Cabinet before the end of March next year It was passed by Parliamentarian Mrs. Dolma Tsering and supported by Parliamentarian Ven. Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen, on the Public Account Committee. It was passed unanimously after debate on the same.
Along with this, the legislative bill on the amendment in the Rules and Regulations of Allotment of Staff Quarters and Residential Quarters for Retired Staff Article 12 clause 3, Presentation of Excellency Award to the Outstanding Staffs of Central Tibetan Administration Rules and Regulation Article 4, Article 5 clause 1, Article 6 clause 1 and 11 and Statute of the Central Council of Tibetan Medicine Article 1 were also approved.
Parliamentary Secretary MR. Lhakhang Tsering Topgyal presented the leave of applications.
The 4th session of the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile concluded with Speaker Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tenphel addressing the members of the successful conclusion of the session and in particular referred to the resolution to implement Tibetan language as primary medium in every official correspondence and program at both Central and local level as momentous.
He also remarked on the adoption of Middle Way Approach to resolve the issue of Tibet and the resumption of the dialogue between Chines government and the envoys of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He appreciated the Public Accounts Committee for their assiduous work and thanked the concerned Departments and staffs for their endeavor and hard work during the 9 days of the session.
