Dharamsala: As per the invitations proffered towards Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma, member of Indian Parliamentary and also a member of the All Party Indian Parliamentarian Forum for Tibet (APIPFT) as the Chief Guest on the joyous celebration of 28th anniversary of the conferment of Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma was especially greeted and honored with mementos by the Deputy Speaker Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phunstok on behalf of members of the standing committee of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile at Thekchen Choeling Tsuklakhang on Dec 10.
The Deputy Speaker attended the Tibetan Youth Congress’s All India Speaking Tour campaign to raise awareness on Tibet’s issues and garner support from the people and the leaders of the world at Mcleod Ganj. Present at the campaign were Shri Ram Swaroop, Founding President of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association, Shri Sunil Manoja, Former President of Bharat-Tibet Sanyog Manch, Shri Aggarwal, member of Himalaya Parivar and Shri Prem Sagar, Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association (ITFA).
Thereafter, later in the evening, the Deputy Speaker attended the 22nd Himalayan Festival as the Guest of Honour. Acting-President Home Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang was also present as the Chief Guest. Other imminent guests included Shri Onkar Nehria, elected member of Municipal Council of Dharamsala, Shri Subhash Nariya, Advisor to the ITFA as well as the members of the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. The festival, which started in 1995, was organised by the ITFA Dharamsala, to commemorate the conferment of Noble Peace Prize on His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama at DMC, Parking, Temple Road, Mcleod Ganj.
