Dharamsala: On 15 August 2017, the local administration of Kangra district organized a ceremony to celebrate the 70TH anniversary of India’s independence day at Police Ground, Lower Dharamsala.

In accordance with the invitation received by the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile through Gaden Phodrang, Deputy Speaker Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok and Parliamentarian Mr. Gewatsang Ngawang Tharpa attended in the celebratory program as guests.

Chief guest Mr. Sudhir Sharma, Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Town & Country Planning, Himachal Pradesh addressed the gathering after the Indian National flag hoisting ceremony.

The celebration concluded with the festivity of cultural program by the locals as well as Tibetans.
