Dharamshala: A parliamentary delegation, including MPs Geshe Ngaba Gangri, Tsering Yangchen, Tenzin Jigdal, and Thupten Gyatso, continued their Europe Tibet advocacy efforts in Paris.
On October 21, 2024, they met with Mr. Thomas Piana, Deputy Ambassador at Large for Human Rights, to discuss the current situation of Tibetans in Tibet and the advocacy programs of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.
The delegation then met with Ms. Anne-Solene Rolland of Le Musée du Quai Branly, where they expressed appreciation for the museum’s decision to retain the name “Tibet” and engaged in a comprehensive discussion about Tibet’s history. During a subsequent visit to the Guimet Museum, they gathered detailed information regarding the name change of “Tibet” to “Himalayan World.”
Finally, they held a meeting with Mr. Benoit Guidee, Director of Asia-Pacific Affairs at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the critical situation facing Tibetans.
The MPs were accompanied by Representative Rigzin Genkhang of the Office of Tibet (Brussels) and Coordinator Thubten Tsering.
