
Dharamsala : Deputy Speaker Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok greeted and welcomed the former member of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Mr. Drawupon Rinchen Tsering as he visited the to the Tibetan Parliament today.
Deputy Speaker briefed him on the current activities of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and presented him with books and pamphlets of Tibetan Parliamentary publications such as ‘Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile – An Introduction and Insight’ and the recently published book ‘Voices of Tibetan Lives scarified Against China’s Policy.’
The former parliamentarian commended the successful pursuits and activities of both the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and said ,’All these fruition and success are solely by the grace of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.’
He was, thereafter, taken for a visit to the parliamentary hall and introduced to the members of the incumbent Standing Committee. He was also introduced to the staffs of the Parliamentary Secretariat.
Mr. Drawupon Rinchen Tsering has been a member of 3 consecutive Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from its conception till its third term (1960-1964, 1964-1966 and 1966-1969 respectively). He was again elected as the representative from Dhotoe province in its sixth term(1976-1979).
