Parliamentarians Conclude Visitation Program of Mundgod and Goa

Parliamentarians Geshe Lharampa Gowa Lobsang Phende and Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen successfully completed their visitation program from 11-21 October 2019 to Mundgod and Goa

Dharamsala: Parliamentarians Geshe Lharampa Gowa Lobsang Phende and Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen successfully completed their visitation program from 11 to 21 October 2019 to Mundgod and Goa.

During the visitation program, a total of 8 public addresses were given to students, monks, and the general public. They addressed on greatness of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, critical situation inside Tibet, the status of Tibet issue on the international platform, proceedings of the 8th session of the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, etc.

Parliamentarians reached Mundgod on 13 October and began their visitation program of Mundgod on the next day until 18 October. They visited the Tibetan Settlement Office, Office of Local Tibetan Assembly, Office of Local Tibetan Freedom Movement, Tibetan Cooperative Society, settlement health care center, Jangchup Ling Nunnery, old age home, Men-Tse-Khang, Sambhota Middle School, Sanbhota Primary School, Sambhota Tibetan School, Nyingon Dorjeedrak Monastery, Loseling hospital, Jangtse hospital, and Schools of Drepung Loseling, Gomang and Sakya.

They addressed the monks of Ratoe, Sakya, Kagyu, Drepung Gomang, Drepung Loseling, Gaden Shartse, and Gaden Jangtse. They also answered questions asked by the monks.

The Parliamentarians also attended the 12th anniversary of the conferment of US Congressional Gold Medal to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, organized by Gaden Shartse monastery at Norburi, Mundgod on 17 October 2019.

On 18 October, Parliamentarians addressed the general public of Mundgod Tibetan Settlement and answered questions asked by them in the morning and then continued their visitation program to Goa.

For the next two days, they visited Tibetan garment sellers and sweater sellers of Calangute and Vasco of Goa. They listened to their grievances and gave necessary suggestions, thus successfully concluding their 11 days’ visitation program to Mundgod and Goa.

The comprehensive inquiry about the conditions of the general public, monasteries, and schools on education, health, finance, and habitation chronicled by the parliamentarians will be forwarded to the related departments of the Central Tibetan Administration through the Standing Committee of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile for effective grievances redress.
