
Dharamsala : Chaired by Speaker Ven. Khenpo Sonam Tenphel in the parliamentary hall, second day of the 5th session of the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile began with Parliamentarian Ven. Khenpo Jamphel Tenzin calling upon the attention of Religion and Cultural Minister Ven. Karma Gelek Yuthok to the matter of urgent public importance pertaining to the well-being and long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama as well as for the collective merit of Tibetans, putting forward the motion that the minister should direct the general Tibetan public to accumulate prayers and indulge in meritorious deeds by abandoning the 10 unwholesome deeds (Dasa Akusala). This motion was supported by Parliamentarian Ven. Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen.


The session then continued with the debate on the official solidarity resolutions on the critical situations inside Tibet and Tibetans facing severe persecutions under the Chinese government. Eighteen parliamentarians participated in the debate, thereafter, the motion on official solidarity resolution passed unanimously.
The session then, adjourned for lunch break and resumed on 1:30 pm with debate on the budget of the various departments and offices under the Central Tibetan Administration for the year 2017-18. A total of fifteen parliamentarians took part in this debate.

The debate paved way for the fourth list of business for the day with Minister (Kalon) of Department of Finance Mr. Karma Yeshi providing the requisite clarifications against the doubts and questions raised by the concerned parliamentarians, which will also continue tomorrow.
The session adjourned at 5 pm till 9:30 am of the next morning.
