Update on the Tibetan parliamentary delegation visit to Delhi

The delegation with Hon.Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highwas, Shipping and Chemical & Fertilizers.

Delhi : In continuation with the update on the Tibetan parliamentary delegation’s ongoing meeting with the members of the Indian parliament, concurring with the Indian monsoon parliamentary session, a total of 32 Indian parliamentarians has been reached out, viz., 29 members of 13 different political party, an independent politician and 2 nominated members of parliament by the delegation. 17 of the members are from Rajya Sabha while the rest are from Lok Sabha, belonging to different political parties such as Bharata Janata Party, Indian National Congress,Janata Dal (United), Rastriya Lok Samata Party, All India Trinamool Congress etc.
The members from the constituency of 15 different states of India stated that when it comes to the issue of Tibet, they will always render their support and suggested that meetings with the parliamentarians should be continued in future as well.
They also met with Hon. Mansukh L. Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Chemical & Fertilizers.Some of the parliamentarians that the the delegation met of 4 August 2017 and 5 August 2017 were Shri Bijoy Chandra Barman (Lok Sabha), Shri Gutha Sukender Reddy (Lok Sabha), Shri C.P Thakur (Rajya Sabha), Shri M.V Rajeev Gowda (Rajya Sabha),Shri Satyanarayan Jhatiya (Rajya Sabha),Shri Bhubaneswar Kalita (Rajya Sabha),Shri Ram Kumar Sharma(Lok Sabha) etc.

As per the invitation by International Raksha Bhandan Celebration Committee, the delegation attended the World Raksha Bandhan and Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Deputy speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-exile, addressed the gathering as well.
The Tibetan parliamentary delegation’s meeting with the Indian parliamentarians will continue till 11 August 2017.
